Normal Real Estate Stuff

Well, we’re signing another extension today. The lender wanted the appraiser to be “one of their approved appraisers.” Then they found out that my RE broker’s company was also a mortgage brokerage so their appraiser would have been OK. But they had already disallowed that appraisal, so even though they say it’ll be OK after all it has to go through the entire approval process again. Sheesh. It is due in to our lender today. So, once again, we “could close as early as next week, Monday, even.” But don’t bet any money on it! Our RE broker assures us that things are “going along like they are supposed to—that this is just the way the process works.” In the meantime we are also putting off calls to friends—as we want to include the good, and final, news!

Monument Valley” is now up on my website. Now I am working on “Tehachapi Pass” which is shaping up to be another stunner. I need to get this finished in the next week or so—I’m taking “Out by Cordova,” “Mission Wall,” “Monument Valley,” and “Tehachapi Pass” in to the digital studio to have them capture and make some prints before the High Road Art Tour.

Our neighbor has fresh produce from his garden out for sale today—I think we’ll wander over and pick up a few things. We did harvest 3 tomatoes from our two plants we have growing in pots out front. They were Soooooo good! I found a place that sells heirloom corn—what folks here ate in ancient times—apparently the kind we eat today bears little to zero resemblance to the taste of ‘real’ corn. We’re going to plant a variety that is hundreds of years old. The soil here is good and there seems to be enough water so we’re looking forward to having a nice big vegetable garden next year.
